Subject: [KCUTS] The truth about BC's health care
From: meadow@netidea.com

From: BC Health Coalition

Tired of the government spin about health spending?

So are we.

And that health care "spending clock" the BC government added to their
Conversation
on Health website? That was the last straw!

Now British Columbians have an opportunity to see our health care
investment in
perspective at www.bchealthconversation.ca (no, it's not the government's
site.)

It's time for a discussion based on useful facts, not hysterical numbers.

Did you know?

- As a percentage of BC's economy, public spending on health care stayed
almost the
same between 1991 and 2006.

- Every thirty seconds, a US citizen goes bankrupt as a result of the
health care
costs associated with a major illness.

- Knee replacement surgery in a public hospital averages $8,000 compared
to $14,000
to $18,000 in a private surgical facility.

Help tell the whole story about health care spending.
Put a link on your site to www.bchealthconversation.ca. We've attached
three badges
in different sizes that should work for most websites.

Forward the link to your lists, networks and communities. Feel free to use
the
sample email below or create your own.

Looking for the facts about BC's health care costs?
You can cut through the jargon at www.bchealthconversation.ca

When the government added a health care "spending clock" to their
Conversation on
Health website, we thought it was time British Columbians had an
opportunity to see
public health care investments in perspective.

www.bchealthconversation.ca (no relation to the government site) is a
friendly
option for those interested in a discussion based on useful facts, not
hysterical
numbers.
